GFA President Kurt Okraku set to join CAF Executive Committee unopposed
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku is set to join the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee during the organisation’s Elective Congress scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in Cairo, Egypt.

Sources indicate that the Congress, beginning at 10:00 AM Cairo time, will oversee critical decisions shaping the future of African football.
This includes the election of CAF’s President, Executive Committee members, and representatives to the FIFA Council for the 2025–2029 cycle.
Mr Okraku, representing the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU B), is running unopposed for the Executive Committee position.
His appointment is expected to enhance Ghana’s presence in African football governance.
CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe will also run unopposed for a second term.
The Congress will feature elections for other key positions, with prominent candidates including Wallace John Karia of Tanzania, Liberia FA’s Mustapha Raji, and Algeria’s Sadi Walid, among others.
For the FIFA Executive Council, notable contenders include Djibrilla Hima Hamidou of Niger, Isha Johansen of Sierra Leone, and Amaju Pinnick, former Nigeria FA President, contesting under Tanzania FA’s ticket.
The Congress promises a pivotal moment in African football’s development.
