Hearts of Oak’s move for coach Maxwell Konadu stalls over financial disagreement
Hearts of Oak’s bid to appoint Maxwell Konadu as their new head coach has collapsed following a breakdown in negotiations over financial terms.

The club had been in talks with the experienced coach for several weeks, aiming to finalise his appointment ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
However, despite early progress, the two parties failed to agree on the salary package, leading to the collapse of the deal on Wednesday.
Konadu, who has previously managed Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities, was seen as a key candidate to strengthen the Phobians’ technical bench following their fourth-place finish last season.
With talks now off the table, sources close to the club indicate that Hearts of Oak have shifted focus to Didi Dramani. Preliminary discussions have taken place with the former Black Maidens coach, but no agreement has yet been reached.
The club remains keen on bolstering its technical setup in a bid to mount a serious title challenge next season.
