Ghana winger Ibrahim Osman proud after marking Champions League debut for Feyenoord

Ghana international Ibrahim Osman has shared his delight after making his first appearance in the UEFA Champions League competition.

The Black Stars winger played a pivotal role when Feyenoord defeated Spanish outfit Girona to secure a crucial away win on Wednesday night.

Osman started and lasted 61 minutes as his outfit cruised to a 3-2 victory over Girona in the highly competitive clash, held at the Estadi Municipal de Montilivi.

The former Nordjaelland star contributed 22 touches, four of which were inside the opposition’s box. He displayed his dribbling skills, completing three out of four dribbles, and was a constant threat in duels, winning eight overall, including seven ground duels.

After the game, the highly-rated winger took to social media to celebrate his debut in the UEFA’s elite club competition.

“Champions League debut and plus three points. Proud moment for me and my family. Thank you all” he wrote on social media.

Girona opened the scoring in the 19th-minute mark through David Lopez before the visitors pulled parity in the 23rd minute following an own goal from Yangel Herrera.

The Dutch outfit scored to extend their lead in the 33rd minute after Antoni Milambo found the net. The home team responded with an equalizer in the 73rd minute through Donny van de Beek.

However, Feyenoord snatched victory few minutes to full after Ladislav Krejci scored an own goal to hand the visitors maximum points.

Osman, on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion, made his professional debut for FC Nordsjaelland in February 2023 and quickly rose to prominence with exceptional performances.

The skilled winger, who recently joined Brighton from the Danish Premier League, boasts international experience with the Ghana Black Stars.

He is expected to be named in the Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan.
