World Cup 2026: Black Stars arrive in Kansas City ahead of knockout clash against Colombia

The Black Stars of Ghana have arrived in Kansas City as they step up preparations for their 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32 meeting with Colombia.

The squad travelled from Providence on Wednesday, bringing an end to their three-week base in Rhode Island, where they remained throughout the group stage fixtures against Panama, England and Croatia.

Their arrival in Missouri sets the stage for the knockout tie at Kansas City Stadium on Friday, 3 July, with kick-off scheduled for 01:30 GMT.

The match represents a decisive moment in Ghana’s campaign, with a place in the Round of 16 at stake as they aim to continue their run in the tournament.

The Black Stars are due to hold their mandatory pre-match training session on Thursday before turning their focus fully to the encounter.

It marks Ghana’s first appearance in the knockout stages of a World Cup since 2010 in South Africa, with the team seeking to build on that milestone against a strong Colombian side.
