CSD Reform LBG holds stakeholders engagement under the Governance,Rule of Law,and Peacebuilding for Sustainable Development Flagship Programme with funding Support from the UNDP Ghana.

The Promoting Rural Opportunities for the Vulnerable and Excluded (PROVE) for Sustainable Development in Lewuniyiri Project has been launched in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region to support vulnerable women and young people with skills, livelihood opportunities and community resilience initiatives.

The project is a UNDP-supported initiative implemented by CSD Reform-LBG in partnership with UNDP under the Governance, Rule of Law, and Peacebuilding for Sustainable Development Flagship Programme. It is funded by the Governments of Denmark, Luxembourg and South Korea and will run from June to November 2026 in the Lewuniyiri community.
The initiative seeks to reduce poverty, environmental degradation and social exclusion by equipping vulnerable women and young people with vocational, financial and green technology skills while promoting peaceful coexistence and community resilience.

The project is expected to directly benefit at least 100 vulnerable people, with women constituting at least 60 percent of beneficiaries. Additional indirect benefits are expected for households and the wider community through improved livelihoods, social cohesion and environmental sustainability.
Key interventions include training in soap making, dairy value addition and shea butter processing, a revolving livestock grant, improved cookstove training, financial literacy and business mentorship, the provision of a community tricycle for transport and emergency referrals, and inclusive community dialogues aimed at strengthening relations between the Fulbe and Briffor communities.
A Community Project Management Committee will be established to oversee implementation and ensure local participation.
Stakeholder engagement activities began in June 2026, bringing together district institutions and 85 community members in Lewuniyiri, including women, youth, persons with disabilities, traditional leaders and members of the Fulbe community. Participants pledged their support for the project and committed to ensuring inclusive participation.
Vocational training activities and the handover of community assets are expected in the coming weeks.
Project implementers say the initiative is designed to promote inclusive development, peaceful coexistence and sustainable livelihoods in a fragile border community in northern Ghana.
