Parliament pays tribute to late President Atta Mills

Parliament has paid tribute to the late President Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills on the occasion of the14th anniversary of his passing.

The Members of Parliament reflected on his legacy of humility, integrity and commitment to national peace.

This was after the Member of Parliament for Ekumfi Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe had made a statement in memory of the late President Mills.

Kwainoe described the late President as an exceptional statesman whose leadership was marked by humility, compassion and selfless service.

He noted that Professor Mills’ famous declaration that he would rather lose power than lose the peace of Ghana remains a lasting symbol of democratic leadership and national unity.

He urged Ghanaians to honour the memory of the late President by upholding integrity, protecting the country’s democratic institutions and placing Ghana above personal and political interests.

He also paid tribute to the Atta Mills family and called on future generations to be inspired by the values and legacy of the former President
