Over 40 countries address Africa’s jihadist threat

Foreign ministers from more than 40 countries are meeting in Rome later on Monday to discuss the growing threat of the Islamic State (IS) group in Africa.

While IS has suffered territorial defeat in Syria and Iraq, the influence of the jihadist group is growing across the African continent.

Italy says IS poses a serious risk for the security of the Mediterranean.

Britain will pledge more funding to tackle the IS affiliate in West Africa, responsible for violence in Chad, Cameroon and Nigeria.
