Okraku praises six consecutive seasons of smoothly run domestic competitions

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has hailed the successful organisation of all domestic football competitions for six consecutive seasons without major disruptions, a feat he considers a key achievement of his tenure.

Since assuming office in 2019, Okraku has overseen the consistent staging of the Ghana Premier League, Women’s Premier League, Division One League, Beach Soccer, Futsal, and the men’s and women’s FA Cup competitions, including both regular and off-season tournaments.

Speaking at the 31st Ordinary Congress in Pampram on Tuesday, he said:

“For the sixth straight season, we successfully organised all domestic competitions — the Ghana Premier League, Women’s Premier League, Division One League, Beach Soccer, Futsal, and the FA Cup (male and female) — both regular and off-season, without major challenges.”

Okraku noted that this consistency has brought greater stability to the football calendar, improved competitiveness across all levels, and enhanced the reputation of Ghanaian football. He added that uninterrupted domestic competitions are essential to player development, club growth, and attracting commercial partners.

The GFA boss credited the achievement to collective efforts from clubs, match officials, sponsors, and the Association’s administrative structures, stressing that the stability of the domestic game remains central to his vision for Ghana football.
