The Manageress of Acapela Media, owners of Fiila Fm has indicated that the unfortunate Covid-19 pandemic couldn’t prevent them from celebrating mother’s this year on the international Mother’s Day.
Mrs Janet Akosua Kwatemaa Boakye noted that for the ban on social gatherings and also the safety of mother’s, Fiila Fm resorted to celebrating mother’s this year on a virtual platform unlike the usual huge gatherings.
She posited that the innovation of using radio this year was a great idea which she believes a lot of women were blessed through the advice of the seasoned panelists who joined in the celebration.
Among the penal were; The wife of the N/R minister, Hajia Alima Saeed, MCE for Sagnarigu Hajia Mariam Iddrisu, Mrs Victoria Saahene, a physically challenged mother and a retired educationist and Rev Mrs Akonsi, Headmistress Shalom International.
In her submission Hajia Alima Saeed underscored the need for society to give women the needed respect and empowerment in order to experience the change we need in real life.
She believes if the role of the woman is well understood in society, the upcoming generation will be better off in the near future.
Rev Mrs Akonsi also urged women and girls alike, not to relax on their oars in achieving their dreams and aspirations in life.
On her part the MCE for Sagnarigu Hajia Mariam Iddrisu urged husbands to help creat better support systems for their wives in order to bring out the best in them.
She believes there are more women who can take up various leadership positions but due to the lack of a vibrant support system, they settle for less.
Meanwhile she indicated that it is not difficult for a woman to combine both Marriage with Work and Childbirth, on condition that they are able to build a better support system with their family and friends.
Madam Victoria Saahene in her words, advised women to focus on bringing out the best in them to be appreciated by their family and the society at large.
The Mother’s Day celebration has been greatly organized by fiila Fm on yearly basis for the past 10 year. This year, the renowned media house in Tamale, organized a virtual celebration due to the ban on social gathering.
With Support from Onga, Total, Nasant Ventures, Felli Anne fashions and Zenabu Chop bar, a lot of mother’s won several amazing prices to mark the day.
