Mohammed Kudus has the qualities to play for any top European side, says Andre Ayew

Former Black Stars captain Andre Ayew believes Mohammed Kudus has the quality to play for any of Europe's leading clubs.

Kudus, 25, enjoyed two impressive seasons at West Ham United after joining the Premier League club from Dutch side Ajax.

The Ghana international subsequently moved to fellow London club Tottenham Hotspur, but his progress has been hampered by recurring injuries.

Those fitness problems also ruled Kudus out of Ghana’s 2026 World Cup campaign in North America.

Speaking on the Obi One Podcast, hosted by former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi, Ayew said Kudus possesses the ability to compete at the highest level.

“He’s got everything to be at the top,” Ayew said.

The former Marseille and Swansea City forward played alongside Kudus at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Ayew believes Kudus should focus on making a full recovery before returning to competitive football.

He urged the Tottenham forward to take his time with his rehabilitation and prioritise his health.

“In my opinion, he is good enough to be in clubs like Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, etc.,” he added.

Kudus is currently recovering from injury and is nearing a return to full fitness.
