The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has dismissed reports circulating on social media that it has failed to pay personnel their 2025 rent allowance.
The Service described the reports as false and unfounded, stating that the final tranche of the full payment of the 2025 rent allowance was paid in April 2026.
In a statement issued on Friday, August 21, 2026, the GNFS said management had taken note of the misinformation and urged personnel and the general public to disregard it.
“Management wishes to state categorically that the information is false and unfounded, as the last tranche of the full payment of the 2025 rent allowance was effected in April 2026,” the statement said.
On the 2026 rent allowance, the GNFS said a committee had been constituted to facilitate the process and ensure that payment was effected soon.
“With regard to the 2026 rent allowance, we wish to inform all personnel that a committee is in place to ensure the mechanisation takes effect soon,” it said.
The Service thanked its personnel for their patience and assured them of management’s commitment to addressing their welfare concerns, including compensation.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and an open-door policy in communicating information to personnel and the public.
The GNFS urged the public to disregard the report and refrain from circulating what it described as misinformation.
