Ghana’s COVID-19 case count rises to 3,091 as Bono Region records first case

Ghana’s COVID-19 case count has increased to 3,091. This comes after 372 new cases were recorded from various parts of the country.
The Bono Region has also become the 13th out of the country’s 16 regions to record a case of the virus.
The case in the Bono Region was detected in the Jaman North District.
These developments were contained in the latest update on the Ghana Health Service (GHS) website today [May 07, 2020].
According to the Ghana Health Service, a total of 137,924 tests have been done so far. The update also added that the number of recovered persons has increased to 303 from the previous 294.
The Greater Accra Region remains at the top of the case count list with 2,579 cases, followed by the Ashanti Region with 165 and the Eastern Region with 95.
Western North has so far recorded 56 cases, followed slightly by the Central Region with 50 confirmed cases.
Western Region has 32 cases, Volta Region 30, Upper East Region – 26, Oti Region – 23 and the Upper West Region with 19 cases.
The Northern Region is said to still be at 13, after there were rumors of additional cases recorded in the region this past week.
North East Region has 2 with Bono Region being the latest recording only 1 case.
