Ghana legend Malik Jabir wants Black Stars coach Otto Addo fired after AFCON qualification setback
Ghana legend Malik Jabir has questioned the competence of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo following the team’s recent poor showing in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ghana, who are four-time champions of the AFCON are on the verge of failing to qualify for the CAF’s biggest tournament for the first time since 2004 following defeat to Sudan.
The West African powerhouse succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to the Falcon Jediane at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Libya on Tuesday afternoon.
However, the veteran Ghanaian tactician has called for the sacking of Otto Addo, saying he has not been helpful in his second stint with the national team.
“Otto Addo must be fired, he has been helpful to our squad during his tenure” .
Ghana now needs to secure wins against already-qualified Angola and Niger, while hoping that Sudan falters against these same opponents, to keep their chances alive for next year’s tournament in Morocco.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars will return to action in November to face Niger and Angola in their final group F games.
