GFA president Kurt Okraku announces GHC2 million prize for 2025/26 Ghana Premier League champions

Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has revealed that the winners of the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season will be awarded a cash prize of GHC2 million.

The announcement came during the 31st Ordinary Congress of the GFA held on Tuesday at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

Speaking to delegates, Mr. Okraku detailed the prize distribution for the top fifteen clubs based on their final league positions.

The runners-up are set to receive GHC1 million, while the third and fourth-placed teams will earn GHC850,000 and GHC750,000 respectively.

The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season is slated to begin on September 12.

  • 13th: GHC300,000
  • 14th: GHC250,000
  • 15th: GHC200,000

This prize structure aims to further motivate clubs as they prepare for a highly competitive league season.
