Dr. Anyars donates to Victims of Changli Brutality

The aspiring Member of Parliament for the Tamale central constituency Dr Ibrahim Anyars has visited the people of Changli a suburb of Tamale, after a dawn police raid in the area turned bloody.

It would be recalled that a policewoman was subjected to the beatings of her life at Changli when she went to the area to effect the arrest of a woman suspected to be involved in a theft case under investigation.

Dr.  Anyars in his speech urged residents to exercise restraint during unfortunate circumstances of this sort, and not take the laws into their own hands.

The aspiring MP who also doubles as the CEO of the Nation Builders Corp (NABCO) also used the opportunity to drum home the fact that Ghana is not in normal times due to the covid 19 pandemic, hence the need for all to observe safety measures.

Some 20 bags of sugar and a cash amount of GHC 8,000 was donated to the victims to help cater for the cost of treatment. Of the cash amount, GHC 4,000 goes to members of the community who sustained minor injuries while the other half is to cater for the bills of a woman who sustained gunshot wound on the head and is currently receiving treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH).

Receiving the donation on behalf of the victims, ChangNaa expressed appreciation to Dr Anyar for the gesture and pledged an equitable distribution of the resources to the beneficiaries.

Mr. Hassan Deen the husband of the woman who received gunshot wounds and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital expressed appreciation to the aspiring MP, describing him as a man of honor.  Dr Anyars proceeded to the TTH to pay the victim a visit after which he proceeded to visit the policewoman who was severely brutalized at Changli.
