2025 AFCON Qualifiers: We stay positive heading into reverse fixture against Sudan – Ghana coach Otto Addo

Ghana head coach, Otto Addo, remains positive as his team prepares for the return leg against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Despite a frustrating goalless draw in the first leg on Thursday, Addo believes the Black Stars can bounce back with a victory in the upcoming fixture.

In their Group F clash, Ghana dominated possession but couldn’t convert their chances, leaving the team with just a point from the encounter. The result leaves the Black Stars still searching for their first win in the qualifying campaign, after earlier setbacks against Angola and Niger.

Speaking after the match, Coach Addo emphasised the importance of maintaining a positive mindset as the team heads into the reverse fixture.

“Today, again, we did well, and there’s not much I can say except for the result, and this is the most important thing in football. It’s not correct. I think we deserved to win, but we didn’t. But, we will stay positive, and we will beat them away with the same performance, passion, and creativity up front,” said Otto Addo.

The Black Stars will face Sudan again on Tuesday, October 15, in what will be a must-win game for Ghana if they hope to keep their AFCON qualification hopes alive.

Coach Addo and his team are confident they can secure the needed result on Sudanese soil with another strong performance.
