The Black Stars exited before all of you – Kurt Okraku cautions players ahead of Sudan games
Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, has called on the Black Stars to enhance their performance, reminding the players that the team's legacy predates their birth.

The four-time African champions had a rocky start to their 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign, facing a 1-0 defeat against Angola at Baba Yara Sports Stadium and settling for a 1-1 draw with Niger in Morocco. These results currently place the Black Stars in third position with just one point.
As they prepare for their upcoming doubleheader against Sudan in Matchdays three and four, Okraku addressed the team on Tuesday, encouraging them to bounce back from their disappointing start.
“In 1957, Ghana achieved independence through the courage of men who faced challenges head-on,” he stated. “This resilience is what we need now.”
He continued, referencing key players: “Mohammed Kudus, the Black Stars existed before you were born. Alexander Djiku, this team was here long before you came along. Now, the question is, what will you do with the opportunity presented to you?”
The Black Stars will face the Sudanese Falcons in the first leg of their doubleheader on Thursday, October 10, at 16:00 GMT, before heading to Libya for the return leg on Monday, October 14, at the Martyrs of February Stadium.
