South Sudan president gets Covid-19 jab
South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir was vaccinated against Covid-19 in a move aimed at encouraging more citizens to go for the vaccine.
South Sudan started vaccination last week with the first recipients being health workers and people aged over 65.
South Sudan shared a photo of the president being inoculated:
South Sudan received 132,000 vaccine doses through the Covax global initiative.
The country has 10,387 confirmed cases of coronavirus including 113 deaths, according to the health ministry.
