Serve as vigilante for NSS-Director to Service Persons

The National Director of the National Service Secretariat(NSS), Mr Osei Assibey Antwi, has called on prospective service persons to serve as vigilantes and report people who will use the registration exercise to swindle applicants of their money.

He tasked service persons to report such individuals who may carry themselves round as workers of NSS, claiming they can help post service persons to their preferred facility.

“There are goro boys who present themselves as workers of NSS, who want to sabotage the service, do report them immediately “.

Mr Osei Assibey Antwi was speaking at the Center for National Culture in Tamale, during his working visit to inspect the registration process of service persons in the Northern Region.

He also inspected the smooth running of the first time metric application being used in registering applicants for the mandatory national service.

The newly appointed director tasked applicants to comport themselves during their service period, devoid of arrogance nor acts of indiscipline.

In all, a total of 81,081 graduates from accredited tertiary institutions who enrolled for the 2021/2022 have been deployed for national service, to various user agencies across Ghana.

Unlike the previous years, these crop of service persons will serve a 12month period as part of their civic responsibilities, with September being their leave month.

He meanwhile called for reports from all service persons on issues deemed qualified for publication.
