Otto Addo will need time to build a formidable team – Ibrahim Sannie Daara

The senior national team has come under intense pressure for their horrendous performances and is at risk of failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

After four games played, the Black Stars sit 3rd in Group F with just two points and will wrap up their qualifiers against Angola and Niger later this month.

Speaking in an interview, Saanie Daara attributed the struggles to the frequent changes of coaches and called for patience for Otto Addo and his technical team.

“The Black Stars defeated Nigeria to qualify for the World Cup with a very young team, and if you look at the squad, we were very young so the momentum should have continued despite the elimination from the World Cup but we could not sustain the momentum,” he told Asempa FM.

“I believe the frequent changes of coaches have not helped the team and it has affected the confidence of this team.

“The team now cannot perform well at tournaments and even play against minor sides. The technical team is now building a young team so we must exercise patience for this team,” he added.

They will travel to Luanda to face Angola on November 15 at the Estádio 11 de Novembro, followed by a home match against Niger Republic three days later at the Accra Sports Stadium.
