Muslims in Diaspora distribute food items to vulnerable groups in Tamale

 

Some benevolent Muslims in the diaspora has supported some vulnerable groups in the Tamale Metropolis ad Sagnargu municipality with assorted food items. The intervention is to ease the financial burden on the struggling individuals and their families during the Ramadan month and the upcoming Eid-ul Fitr celebration.

The beneficiaries were selected from Gbalahi, Taha, Bug’yili and Ward K in the Sagnarigu municipality. The others were drawn from Kukuo, Dohinayili and Nanton Zuo in the Tamale Metropolis of the Northern Region.

Alhaji Salifu Abdul Dahim, the lead person for the distribution of the items told THE CUSTODIAN the initiative is an annual gesture coming from the benevolence of individual donors most whom are abroad and some in Ghana.

“This year, we have a target of supporting 100 families with food items and drinks. Alhamdulillah, we have exceeded by 50 more families” he said.

He disclosed about fifty (50) orphans also received shoes/footwears and selected nursing mother also receiving assorted soft drinks and clothes for their babies.

“The intention is to, at least ease the burden on struggling families, especially in this current economic crisis” he emphasized.
