I’ve what it takes to be Bawumia’s Running mate for 2024 – Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu ‘lobbies’

Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has unveiled his credentials stating among other things that he has what it takes to be the running mate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 elections.

According to one of the country’s longest-serving lawmakers, he has spent enough time in Parliament to know the ins and out of governance and is more than qualified to occupy that august position if people are being considered.

However, he believes that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has a number of persons who also qualify to be considered for the position.

Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu was speaking on Accra-based OKAY FM when he made this known.

He said “If the person says I’m worthy of being a running mate I can do it. I can even be the Prime Minister of Ghana if we practiced that kind of governance system. It means I have the knowledge to be the running mate.

However, I’m not the only one with such knowledge, there are other people in the party who are also knowledgeable. So when he looks through he can make a choice to occupy that position,” he said on OKAY FM.

Meanwhile, there have been calls on the governing NPP to consider pairing the two leading contenders for the flagbearership because that will help the party break the eight.

Analysts say Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Alan Kyeremanteng will make a good ticket for the political party which is looking at making history with the 2024 elections.
