Inaki Williams means a lot to us- Athletic Bilbao coach Ernest Valverde
Athletic Bilbao coach, Ernest Valverde has praised Inaki Williams following his impressive performance in their Europa League win against Fenerbache.
The Ghana striker netted a brace as the Spanish side recorded a hard-fought 2-0 win over the Turkish giants on Wednesday night.
Williams’ brace were his third and fourth goals in the Europa League after six games.
After the game, Valverde touched on the importance of having the 29-year-old in his team.
“For us, Iñaki Williams already knows what he means because of the heart he has and how he pushes us,” he told the club’s media after the win.
“For us, this victory means a lot. We are a team that has just arrived in continental competition after years and it leaves us in a good position,” he added.
Inaki Williams will hope to keep his impressive goal-scoring form when Athletic Bilbao travel to play Alaves in the La Liga on Sunday.
