I am grateful to football community for their help, says ‘fit again’ Osei Kwei Palmer

Owner and bankroller of Tema Youth Football Club, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer has thanked the football circles for their help and assistance when he was at the hospital. 

The renowned football administrator suffered a serious illness last year. Narrating what happened, the former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee member revealed that he went to the hospital to have surgery but the illness escalated to a different illness.

“I was at the hospital to treat a boil but I was told I would have to have surgery but it escalated to something different. It was God that has kept me alive because it was not easy for me,” he told Asempa FM.

“I thank football people for their help when I was not well. They proved to me that I did not choose the right path.

“They visited me at the hospital daily basis and I am grateful for everything.

“I also want to thank my family for their assistance as well. I was conscious alright but I want to say thanks to everybody,” he added.

Quizzed if Kurt Okraku, who is the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) visited him, he said, “I was told Kurt Okraku came to visit me but I did not see him. I know Kwesi Nyantakyi, George Afriyie, Kudjoe Fianoo and others came around while I was at the hospital.”

Osei Palmer also revealed that Black Stars such as Joseph Paintsil, Joseph Larweh Attamah and others also came to his rescue when he was admitted to the hospital.
