Having different Management Committees for national teams not the best way to develop football – Kofi Adams

For several years, Ghana’s national teams have operated with individual Management Committees responsible for handling administrative and operational issues.

However, Adams believes the system creates unnecessary pressure on the government and leads to avoidable challenges in managing the country’s sporting affairs.

Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM, the Buem Member of Parliament argued that a more coordinated approach would provide better results for Ghana’s national teams.

“Having separate Management Teams for the various national teams becomes a burden on us and creates so many challenges for us based on what I have seen and what I came to meet, and I believe that is not the best way to manage our sport,” Adams stated.

The Minister explained that while recognising the efforts of individuals involved in supporting Ghana’s teams is important, there are more efficient ways to reward contributions without maintaining multiple administrative structures.

“There are many other ways of rewarding people, and there are many ways of helping to develop our sports, especially the national teams that this system has operated over the period,” he added.

Adams revealed that he plans to champion reforms aimed at introducing a unified management structure, with one committee overseeing the operations of Ghana’s various national teams.

According to the Minister, the proposed restructuring is intended to improve efficiency, reduce administrative burdens, and create a more sustainable framework for the development of Ghanaian sports.
