Ghana’s Zubairu Ibrahim shines with brace and assist as Partizan Belgrade thrash Una Strassen in UEFA Conference League qualifier

The former King Faisal attacker was the standout performer at the Stadion Partizana, playing 72 minutes and playing a decisive role in three of his side’s four goals as the Serbian giants took a huge step towards securing a place in the next qualifying round.

Partizan made the perfect start to the contest, breaking the deadlock just four minutes into the game. Zubairu Ibrahim showcased his creativity by setting up Erik Kojzek for the opening goal.

The Ghana international continued to torment the visitors throughout the opening half and got on the scoresheet in the 29th minute, as the host went to the break with the advantage.

Zubairu Ibrahim carried his excellent form into the second half and struck again in the 68th minute to effectively put the tie beyond Una Strassen. His second goal of the evening capped a brilliant individual performance and underlined his growing importance to the Serbian outfit.

With the visitors already on the ropes, Partizan added further gloss to the scoreline 10 minutes from time when Ognjen Ugresic found the back of the net to complete an emphatic 4-0 triumph.

Zubairu Ibrahim’s remarkable contribution of two goals and an assist highlighted his attacking quality and proved instrumental in Partizan Belgrade’s dominant display.

The victory gives the Serbian club a significant advantage ahead of the return leg, while the Ghanaian forward will take immense confidence from one of his finest performances in European competition.

The Ghanaian attacker spent the second half of last season on loan Corum FK. Following the expiration of his short term spell, the attacker has returned to the Serbian outfit and is expected to play a huge role in the upcoming season.
