EXCLUSIVE: Solomon Agbasi interested in Medeama move as talks reach serious stage
Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi is interested in joining Medeama SC, with discussions between both parties reaching an advanced stage, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.

The Ghana international, whose contract with the Phobians is nearing its expiration, has emerged as one of the most sought-after goalkeepers in the local transfer market, and Medeama are pushing strongly to secure his signature ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Sources close to the negotiations have told GHANAsoccernet.com that talks have gathered significant momentum in recent days, with both the player and the Tarkwa-based club showing a strong desire to reach an agreement.
Although no deal has been concluded, there is growing optimism that the move could be finalised if negotiations continue positively.
Agbasi was part of Ghana’s squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, serving as the Black Stars’ standby goalkeeper.
Medeama are looking to strengthen their squad following their Ghana Premier League title-winning campaign and see Agbasi as an experienced addition capable of providing quality and leadership between the posts.
Should the move materialise, it would significantly increase competition in Medeama’s goalkeeping department, with the club keen to create healthy rivalry for the number one position as they prepare for both domestic and continental assignments next season.
Agbasi has built a reputation as one of the Ghana Premier League’s dependable goalkeepers, earning praise for his reflexes, command of the penalty area and ability to perform under pressure.
While discussions are progressing well, the transfer has not yet been completed, and the final outcome will depend on both parties reaching an agreement over the remaining details.
For now, Medeama remain confident, while Agbasi is understood to be open to the challenge of beginning a new chapter in Tarkwa.
