EXCLUSIVE: Accra Great Olympics appoint top administrator Eric Alagidede as General Manager

Accra Great Olympics have appointed Eric Alagidede as their new General Manager, effectively, replacing veteran Oloboi Commodore.

The highly regarded football administrator officially signed his contract on Friday July 11, 2025,  after reaching an agreement with the club, signaling a bold step in the club’s mission to return to the top flight of Ghanaian football.

Alagidede, who has built a strong reputation through his impressive tenure at Nsoatreman FC, is widely recognized as one of the most promising young football executives in the country. His appointment marks a new chapter in the restructuring of the Wonder Club’s administrative hierarchy.

The former Karela United Director of Communications turned general manager will now lead Great Olympics’ operational and strategic revival, bringing with him a blend of experience, modern football management acumen, and a results-driven approach.

Great Olympics, a two-time Ghana Premier League champion, suffered relegation two seasons ago alongside Bofoakwa Tano and Real Tamale United. The club is now determined to reclaim its place among Ghana’s football elite.

With a clear mandate to spearhead the club’s return to the Premier League, Alagidede is expected to instill a sustainable management model, enhance operational efficiency, and position the club as a modern and financially stable entity.

His track record of success and innovation at Nsoatreman, where he played a pivotal role in the club’s historic MTN FA Cup triumph and their maiden participation in the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup, is seen as a strong foundation for his new role at Great Olympics. His strategic leadership and hands-on approach contributed significantly to Nsoatreman’s rise, earning him admiration across the local football fraternity.

The appointment of Eric Alagidede reaffirms Great Olympics’ commitment to embracing youthful leadership and modern football governance as they aim for promotion and long-term growth.

His track record of success and innovation at Nsoatreman, where he played a pivotal role in the club’s rise and organization, culminating in historic FA Cup and CAF Confederation Cup participation,  is seen as a strong foundation for his new role at Great Olympics.
