Crabbe’s last-minute alliance with Boadu shocked me – Mussa Dankwah

The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has described Sammy Crabbe’s last-minute alliance with John Boadu in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Chairman election as one of his biggest surprises from the party’s national executive elections.

Mr Crabbe, a contender for the National Chairmanship position, announced the alliance on October 3, urging his supporters to vote for Mr Boadu as voting got underway.

In a statement issued minutes before voting, Mr Crabbe said the alliance was aimed at promoting unity and strengthening the party.

Mr Dankwah, who had projected Mr Crabbe to secure two per cent of the vote, said the decision came as a surprise.

Speaking in an interview with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV’s The Point of View on Monday, October 5, Mr Dankwah said, “It was one of my biggest shocks. I didn’t expect him really to do a flip.”

Mr Boadu was subsequently elected National Chairman with 2,888 votes, while Mr Crabbe polled one per cent, representing 41 votes.
