Central Business District of Tamale to be disinfected Thursday April 2nd  

Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development in collaboration with Zoomlion will tomorrow commenced a disinfection exercise in Tamale.

The exercise forms part of government’s measures to fight the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

Though some of the market centers were disinfected early this week, a circular from the Tamale metropolitan assembly that was copied to Fiila News called on all shop owners, chop bars, super markets, and financial institutions within the central business district to close down on Thursday, 2nd April 2020 for the mass disinfection exercise of the metropolis.

The letter which was signed by the MAYOR OF Tamale Iddrisu Musah, appealed to the general public to corporate with the team in this difficult times.

He assured market women the exercise would be completed within the shorted possible time to enable markets reopen for use.

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development on Friday, 20th March, 2020 launched a nationwide disinfection exercise in Accra to fight the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Over 137 markets are set to be disinfected; with Bolgatanga taking its turn today, Wednesday 1st April 2020, after Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions took their turns earlier this week.
