Black Queens nominated for Women’s Team of the Year ahead of 2026 CAF Awards
The Black Queens of Ghana have been nominated for the Women Team of the Year ahead of the 2026 CAF Awards in Nigeria.

The West African giants were selected for the award after an impressive Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco this year, where the team reached the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Ghana will face competition from African champions Cameroon, runners-up Malawi and host of the WAFCON Morocco, South Africa, and former Champions Nigeria.
Cameroon have been recognised following their historic triumph at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where the Indomitable Lionesses were crowned African champions.
The remaining nominees are Algeria, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, and Mali, completing a 10-team shortlist for the award.
The competition brings together national teams from different regions of Africa, with each country hoping to claim recognition for its achievements and contributions to women’s football.
The winner will be announced at the 2026 CAF Awards ceremony scheduled for Monday, December 7, 2026, in Lagos, Nigeria.
