Be Civil and Law Abiding- N/R NPP to NDC

The youth wing of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the northern region has tasked the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region, to be civil and law abiding citizens at all times.

It follows an act of violence attack on some members of the NPP Youth Wing by alleged NDC supporters which led to one person sustaining injuries and currently receiving treatment at the Kabsad Hospital in Tamale.

This was contained in a released copied to Fiila News dated 10th July, 2019. And signed by the northern regional youth organizer of the party, Alhassan Mohammed Ghanaa.

The attack which took place at the Tamale Metro Electoral Commission’s office on Monday, 8th July, 2019, was in relation to the recent mass registration exercise being organized by the Electoral Commission (EC) nationwide.

“The EC since the start of this exercise in the region has made smooth progress without any serious hitches until Monday when this unfortunate incident happened”, the statement added.

The statement noted that, the Electoral Commission’s work is an independent one and no person or group of persons would be allowed to interfere with it or carry out violent attacks against the EC officials or participants in the exercise and go scot free.

The party revealed the wanton attack on the members of the youth wing has since been a shock to them as they wait patiently for the police to carry out their investigations into the matter and entreated members of the youth wing to be extremely patient as they have always been, for the police to get to the bottom of the matter.

It further added that the party will cooperate with the law enforcing agencies as law abiding citizens and as well assist them with information to unravel the perpetrators behind the condemnable act.
