Asantehemaa was fair, honest during her reign – Historian

Historian at the Manhyia Palace, Safo Kantanka, has paid tribute to the late Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III, describing her as fair, firm, and honest throughout her reign from 2017 to 2025.
The death of the Asantehemaa was officially announced by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace on August 11 during a mandatory Asanteman Council meeting attended by all paramountcies and clans. The one-week observance will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 98. She ascended the stool on February 6, 2017, following the death of her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem III, who died in 2016 at the age of 111.
Safo Kantanka noted that her enstoolment fulfilled a prophecy from the Kwaku Firi Shrine, conveyed through Baafuo Osei Akoto, a senior linguist of the Asantehene.
“During her reign from 2017 to 2025, Nana Konadu Yiadom III was known to be fair and firm, honest, and a good advisor.
“She had her own count where all her judgement were hailed as fair. The saviour church of Ghana has named a school at Bonwire after her, Nana Konadu Saviour school,” he eulogised.
