Accra Lions winger Daniel Awuni joins Norwegian club Sarpsborg 08

The 18-year-old joins the Norwegian topflight side after an outstanding career in the Ghana Premier League with Lions.

Awuni spent three season with the Accra-based club, where he made 86 appearances, scoring eight goals in the top division.

He was a key figure at the club and was one of the club’s best player in their best campaign in the league last season, when they finished second on the log.

The highly-talented winger, predominantly plays on the right wing but can also feature on the left flank.

Awuni’s trickery and pace made him a delight to watch and was an arsenal for the Accra club.

“We are pleased to announce the loan transfer of our winger Daniel Awuni to Norwegian Eliteserien club Sarpsborg 08. Since his debut in the 21/22 season, Daniel has made 86 Ghana Premier League appearances for Accra Lions and scored 8 goals. We wish him the best of luck in his new challenge!,” wrote Lions confirming his departure.
