Ghana captain Andre Ayew misses out on Ligue 1 Goal of the Season gong
Ghana international Andre Ayew missed out on winning the French Ligue 1 Goal of the Season gong at the end-of-season awards event.

The 35-year-old Black Stars captain was among nominees for the Goal of the Season award after scoring a belter against Lorient in February.
Ayew scored a remarkable overhead kick goal against Lorient to salvage Le Havre from defeat and was in contention for the top award.
The former Marseille star showed up at the Ligue 1 awards last night but unfortunately missed out to Stade Brest player Kamori Doumbia.
Ayew contended the top award with players such as Camara of FC Metz, Doumbia of Stade Brest, Gouiri of Rennes, Savanier of Montpellier, and Teuma of Stade Reims.
The Black Stars captain has been impressive since joining Le Havre in November 2023 as a free agent. He has racked up six goals across competitions for the club.
In the Ligue 1, Ayew has scored five goals and is the highest Ghanaian scorer in the Frecnh Ligue 1 campaign.
Additionally, Ayew holds the distinction of being Le Havre’s joint-top scorer in the league.
