World Cup 2026: “It’s bad news for Ghana” — England coach Thomas Tuchel fires shots ahead of clash
England coach Thomas Tuchel has fired a stern warning to Ghana ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Group L clash on Tuesday.

The European heavyweights head into the game after an entertaining 4-2 victory over Croatia, while Ghana opened their campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Panama thanks to Caleb Yirenkyi’s decisive strike.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Tuchel admitted Ghana remain one of the toughest opponents in the group despite England’s strong start to the tournament.
“It’s bad news for Ghana because we will be very motivated,” the German trainer said.
“We are playing in one of the most difficult groups, and Ghana is a traditional top football country with outstanding players. Ghana play with a lot of physicality, quality and speed. They don’t mind if they don’t have the ball.”
The match has already attracted huge global attention due to the history and quality attached to both nations, with both nations seeking for victories to continue their flying start to the tournament in the North America.
For Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz and his players, Tuchel’s remarks will likely serve as added motivation ahead of what could prove to be the decisive fixture in Group L.
A victory for either side would place them in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stage, making Monday’s showdown one of the most anticipated matches of the group phase.
England sit top of Group L with three points, followed by Ghana, who are also on three points but trail the Three Lions on goal difference.
