“We couldn’t even do shooting”- Heart of Lions assistant coach on players warming up outside UG Stadium
Heart of Lions assistant coach Daniel Nii Adjei insists his players were affected by the premature warm-up before their game against Accra Lions at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday.
The Kpando-based club and their host Accra Lions were forced to have their pre-game preparation outside the stadium due to a Community Games at the same venue.
Despite leaving Legon with a point, the former Kotoko player disclosed that they had to improvise just to honour the match.
“Every time we are finishing our warm-up, we do shooting, we do our build up as part of our game plan,” he said at the post-match presser.
“Today, we did not get the chance to do that, we couldn’t do shooting and it affected us,” he added.
Heart of Lions prior to the game in Accra had won three successive matches and have been one of the best side in the topflight this season.
The team returns to Kpando, where they will host Legon Cities on matchday 12.
