Vodafone Ghana Foundation holds health fest in Tamale to commemorate its anniversary

The indigenes of the Northern Regional capital, Tamale, has on Friday,March 27, 2021, enjoyed some free medical screening and renewal as well as fresh registration of their National Health Insurance Policy.

The exercise organized by the Vodafone Ghana Foundation, provided an opportunity for the over 800 beneficiaries to be screened for various illnesses, including Diabetes, Anaemia, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis, Prostrate, Malaria, HIV, Ultrasound scan for pregnant women and Covid-19 tests, as well as free NHIS registration and renewals.

In an interview with FiilaNews, Reverend Amaris Nana A. Perbi, Head of Vodafone Ghana Foundation indicated that the outreach aims at providing the community access to medical care as part of the Foundation’s twelve years of establishment and to as well commemorate World Tuberculosis week celebration.

For the past twelve years, Rev. Amaris Nana Perbi outlined various projects the foundation has embarked on including the Ark Foundation Shelter (which caters for abused persons), Homecoming Medical Program(paying for bills of insolvent patients), Instant School platform, Vodafone Health-line, among several others.

He noted that the M-Mama project which is upcoming, will be brought to Tamale to help benefit its people.

In an interview with the Metropolitan Manager of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Mr. Ahmed Abdul- Ganiu noted that looking at the membership the scheme drives, it’s a clear indication that the NHIS is widely accepted.

He noted that the foundation made available enough funding to cater for the free NHIS registration, replacement and renewals.

On behalf of the Regional minister, Hajia Alima Salifu Saeed applauded Vodafone Ghana and Divine Mother and Child Foundation, for the honor done the people of the region

Some of the residents, who spoke to FiilaNews , expressed gratitude to Vodafone Ghana Foundation for the kind gesture and urged them to repeat the gesture more often.
