The Board of Directors of Asante Kotoko will be holding a crunchy meeting this week to decide on the club’s new head coach.

This emerges following the Porcupine Warriors abysmal performance against their sworn rivals, Hearts of Oak on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Kotoko were held to a goalless drawn game.
Meanwhile, Kotoko have been without a substantive head coach after the sacking of Maxwell Konadu in December 2020.

The Board members of the Ghanaian giants will be meeting on Thursday to decide on the new direction of the Kumasi-based club at its technical department.

Abdulai Gazale has been named as the head coach with the support of Johnson Smith.

“On Thursday this is one of the issues that will be discussed at our board meeting whether to go for a foreign or a local coach,” Board Member Alhaji Abu Lamine told Kumasi based Oyerepa FM.

“We will issue a statement on Friday after the meeting,” he added.

The entire Board of Directors were unhappy with the team’s performance against their sworn-rivals Hearts of Oak in the match-week 14 outstanding fixture.
