Take concrete steps to avert imminent disasters – Bureau of Public Safety to gov’t

The Bureau of Public Safety (BPS) has called on government to take concrete steps to address public safety concerns in the country.

On Monday, many areas including the Accra-Tema Motorway were flooded.

In the Ashanti Region, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) recorded twelve deaths as a result of floods over the past one month and a half.

The Accra-Aburi road at the hills also experienced rock falls, the second occurrence in the space of a week.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show, Executive Secretary of the Bureau of Public Safety, Nana Yaw Akwada indicated that pragmatic steps must be taken to avert imminent disasters.
