Serve as good sanitation Ambassadors to children -Mawadatu to Ghanaian Adults

The 2021 Child Sanitation Diplomat , Miss Naziru Mawadatu  has called on all adults, parents and every person in authority to serve as sanitation ambassadors to the upcoming generation in their day to day activities.

This according to her will help instill some sanitation discipline in children, as they learn better from their own parents and guardian.

The 12-year student from Damongo Girls Model School in the Savannah Region, has further called for the Ghanaian adults and people in authority to provide toilet facilities to their families and offices and also develope better policies to fight the menace of poor sanitation.

Ms Mawadatu was speaking at the Mole 32nd WASH Conference organized by the Coalition of NGOs against Water and Sanitation (CONIWAS).

She meanwhile congratulated CONIWAS for not leaving Children out in this very important deliberations on sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).

As a child, she noted most Ghanaian children have several concerns and ideas to share on several adults focused discussions, and called for the need to always factor the current generation of children in decision making processes.

She thus called on the current generation of children to stand up and serve as sanitation ambassadors against open defecation in their various communities.
