Remain vigilant, maintain peace – Interior Minister tells Binduri residents after lifting restriction on use of motorbikes

The Ministry of the Interior has informed residents of Binduri Township and its environs in the Upper East Region that the restriction on the use of motorbikes imposed on April 28, 2026, has been lifted with immediate effect.

Following a review of the security situation in the area, the government has decided to lift the restriction on motorbike use in Binduri Township and its environs.

The Ministry commends Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, the Youth, and residents of Binduri and its environs for their cooperation, restraint, and support to the security agencies during the period of the restriction.

In a press statement dated 16th June 2026, the Interior Ministry urged all residents to remain vigilant, maintain peace, and support the security agencies in their efforts to sustain law and order in the area.

“Citizens are encouraged to use peaceful and lawful means to address grievances and promptly report any suspicious activities to the security agencies.

“The Ministry of the Interior remains committed to ensuring the safety, security, and peaceful coexistence of all citizens,” the statement said.
