Rainstorm rips off Tamale Children’s Home roof

A severe rainstorm that rocked Tamale and its environs this Friday dawn, caused havoc on building that houses Orphans at the Nyohani children’s home.

The strong winds tore the roofing sheets of the young adult’s block, leaving inmates and their caregivers exposed to the harsh weather conditions.

In an interaction with the supervisor Madam Augustina Quanoo, she indicated that the damage is extensive and called on the general public to come to their aid.

She explained that “we had to relocate the inmates of the affected block for the meantime.”

The supervisor noted that they had to combine the inmates in order to prevent them from being exposed to the weather for a while.

Meanwhile, Fiilafm has been reliably informed that the Metropolitan assembly and some staff from the Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) visited the facility to assess the extent of damage caused by the storm.

She further called on philanthropists to come to the aid of the orphanage.
