Practicals is what makes meaning to students – N/R STEM Coordinator

Practicals during science lessons is what makes the subject more clearer and understandable to students in schools.

To this end, Parents has thus been urged to patronize science sets for their wards to help build their interest in STEM related course.

The Regional lead coordinator of  STEM, Madam Cecilia Gambogiraah made this appeal during the Vodafone Ghana Foundation’s Connected Learning Program in Tamale.

The program was organized by Vodafone Ghana Foundation in collaboration with Youngsters Initiatives and the Ministry of Education with the aim of enhancing the learning ability of students in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related subjects making use of practical illustrations.

In an interview with FiilaNews, the lead for Vodafone Ghana foundation and sustainable business Rev. Amaris Nana Adjei Perbi noted that the team is in Tamale to activate the connectors learning program where students can access learning materials, videos, exercises and pictures virtually, to enable them have in-depth knowledge on how the theoretical lessons thought in class translates into practicals.

He noted that the team will support a total of 67 schools all over Ghana out of which 12 are in Tamale, with equipments to help make STEM more  practicalized and attractive to the students.

The beneficiary category of schools are Upper primary, Junior high and Senior high schools.

Rev Perbi  further added that giving the children a hands on knowledge of the theory learnt in class will go a long way to help give in-depth knowledge of the subject matter and propel development in the near future.

Teachers and parents alike, have thus been urged to take advantage of the Vodafone Ghana virtual learning platform (on www.instanceschools.vodafone.com.gh) to get access to materials that can assist students in learning.
