The Club Licensing Department of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has concluded its review of stadiums for the forthcoming Ghana Premier League season, granting full approval to just four venues.
Following inspections conducted between August 8 and August 21, 2024, the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Nsenkyire Sports Arena, Dun’s Park, and WAFA Park were the only stadiums meeting all infrastructure requirements.
The recently inaugurated $16 million TNA Stadium, despite its 13,000-capacity and significant investment, did not receive full approval due to the lack of an inner perimeter.
This omission has prevented it from gaining complete accreditation. Additionally, the country’s two largest stadiums, Baba Yara Stadium and Accra Sports Stadium, are also on the conditional approval list.
A re-inspection for these venues is scheduled for August 30, 2024, aiming to rectify deficiencies and potentially secure full approval.
The outcomes of this re-inspection will be crucial as the Ghana Premier League is set to commence on September 6, 2024.
