OFFICIAL: Karim Zito named Asante Kotoko’s acting head coach and technical director
Asante Kotoko SC have officially announced a significant reshuffle in their technical department, signalling a bold new direction for the club’s future following the dismissal of Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.

In a statement released by the club on Tuesday, Abdul Karim Zito has been appointed as the new technical director.
A revered figure in Ghanaian football, Coach Zito returns to the Porcupine Warriors with an impressive resume, having led Dreams FC to a historic semi-final run in the CAF Confederation Cup and previously guiding Ghana’s U-20 team to glory at the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
He is also set to serve as the acting head coach on an interim basis until a permanent head coach is appointed.
Joining Zito in the new technical structure is Prince Yaw Owusu, who takes up the role of assistant coach.
Owusu brings over 20 years of rich coaching experience from Ghana, Sudan, and the United States. His track record includes stints with Medeama SC, Inter Allies, and Khartoum National Club, as well as various national team roles.
A mentor to several players now featuring in top European clubs, Owusu is known for his exceptional player development skills.
Meanwhile, the experienced Malik Jabir transitions into the role of Technical Advisor.
Jabir, a former Kotoko great and one-time technical director, will now provide strategic oversight to aid the club’s long-term ambitions.
