NSS Orients National Service Personnel in the Tamale Metropolis
The Northern Regional National Service Scheme (NSS) has organized an in-service orientation for national service personnel within the Metropolis.
The event which was attended by national service personnel serving in various user agencies in the Tamale Metropolis and Sagnarigu Municipality, is aimed at sensitizing the personnel on the do’s and don’ts of national service and creating a platform for active engagement.
Mr Armstrong Esaah, the Corporate Affairs Director of NSS, recounted the many innovative projects the Hon. Mustapha led administration is undertaking to enhance the scheme.
Pertinent among them is the paperless registration which features an online booking system, international service, and certificate delivery initiative.
He charged service persons to leverage on the national service to build skills and be worthy ambassadors of the Scheme by being disciplined and also exhibit positive attitude at post which will ultimately induce user agencies to retain them after end of service.
“At your duty post do not rub shoulders with employers, in doing so you risk losing your chances at the institution” Mr. Esaah cautioned.
The Northern Regional Director of NSS, Rev. George Gado during his presentation, urged personnel to accept postings to remote areas and endeavor to make a positive impact and create lasting impressions. He also took the opportunity to address the many concerns raised by personnel.
He tasked service personnel to see the allowance paid to them as a token for their service to the nation and not a salary.
Meanwhile the Mayor of Tamale, Iddrisu Musah Superior who was in attendance congratulated personnel on their achievement to serve the country through National Service and further tasked them to seek to be positive in their dealings.
