NSA withholds PIN Codes of graduates from 22 unaccredited tertiary institutions

The National Service Authority (NSA) has released PIN codes for 132,393 final-year students from 100 accredited tertiary institutions for the 2025/2026 service year.
The announcement, made on June 17, 2025, marks the formal commencement of this year’s national service mobilisation process.
The NSA highlighted a marked improvement in data integrity, attributing it to enhanced transparency and stringent validation procedures.
According to the Authority, this year’s figures reflect a 26% average reduction in submissions compared to the last three years, with a peak drop of 36% from the 2022/2023 service year—largely due to the elimination of inflated or bogus submissions.
Out of the 135,990 names initially submitted by 122 tertiary institutions nationwide, 3,597 graduates from 22 institutions have been excluded.
The NSA revealed these institutions are not accredited and remain unknown to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). As a result, their graduates’ PIN codes have not been processed.
“However, 3,597 of these submissions, representing graduates from 22 institutions, have not been processed, as those institutions are currently not accredited and remain unknown to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). Their graduates will not be mobilized unless the NSA receives verifiable evidence confirming their regularised accreditation status,” the statement said.
The NSA is urging institutions with expired accreditation to regularise their status with GTEC within the next 30 days to avoid disruptions in the deployment of their graduates. All institutional accreditation data cited in the release has been validated by GTEC and attached for verification.
Additionally, 908 PIN codes for private applicants—comprising Ghanaian students who studied abroad and individuals resuming deferred service—are currently undergoing final verification.

These PINs will be released upon confirmation from respective institutions. Private applicants whose PIN codes are still unavailable by June 24, 2025, are advised to contact the NSA’s support channels.
The NSA reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and efficient deployment process and warned that only graduates from duly accredited institutions will be allowed to undertake national service.
