Nigeria’s general election will go ahead on 25 February despite rumours of a postponement because of insecurity in parts of the country.
This was made known by the chairperson of the Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec), Mahmood Yakubu, at an event organised by the Chatham House think-tank in London.
Prof Yakubu said that 93.4 million people had registered to vote, with more than 74 million of them being between the ages of 18 and 49.
