My detractors will not succeed in painting me black – Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

Minister of Information, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has taken swipe at his detractors who are bent on doing everything humanly possible to run down his person both as a minister and lawmaker down..

“They will not succeed”, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Ofoasi Ayirebi in the Eastern Region vowed in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com in a local radio station in Kumasi.

According to the spokesperson for the government, known and unknown members of the opposition parties as well as so-called security experts in the country did all they could to discredit him when he addressed the national on the foiled coup d’etat.

“People don’t read. And were saying all things outside they law. I think they will know where they stand now proper charges have been preferred against these suspects”, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah told host.

Earlier the Managing Editor of the Informer newspaper, Mr. Andy Kankam descended heavily on the Information Minister following government announcement on planned attack intended to destabilize the country.

“The Information Minister is rather creating fear and panic. …As a student of security and per what I have followed, this cannot be called coup d’etat”, the senior journalist spoke in an interview MyNewsGh.com monitored on Kumasi FM morning show hosted by Nana Yaw Mensah Joel.

The three people arrested for allegedly possessing arms, explosive devices and ammunition in Alajo and Bawaleshie, in the Greater Accra Region were remanded into the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).

“The government should have done enough surveillance to ensure if these people truly are planning coup d’etat, their accomplices will be arrested”, Mr. Andy Kankam told host
